WILDESTARR Frontwoman On DIO's Passing: 'It Feels Like A Part Of Me Has Died As Well'

May 20, 2010

Vocalist London Wilde of WILDESTARR — the band featuring original VICIOUS RUMORS bassist Dave Starr (now on all guitar and bass) — has released the following statement regarding the passing of legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio (DIO, HEAVEN & HELL, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW):

"People all over the world have mourned in unison with the passing of Ronnie James Dio. For me, as both a fan and a vocalist who owes my entire path in life to the influence of Dio's incredible one-of-a-kind voice, it feels like a part of me has died as well. Like everyone else, I just wanted...well, MORE. More concerts to look forward to. More music, and, as Ronnie himself said in his press release two weeks before his passing, 'more magic.'

"As I reflect on this, I realize how fortunate we ALL are, that Dio graced us with his presence. The prolific artist he was, left us with a staggering amount of incredible music spanning over decades. His influence is felt in generations of musicians and vocalists, that have shaped the metal landscape forever. The legacy he left us will live on. On and on and on...

"Thank you, Ronnie, for the music, the magic, and the inspiration you have given us all."
